mission.log Why we plug in
Best Collage Maker exists for the people stuck between a phone full of photos and a deadline — the parent assembling a school-year recap, the small studio building a client gift, the hobbyist who just wants a clean grid without a watermark. We sift the collage-maker grid so you don't have to install ten apps to find one that fits.
The collage market is a glare of free tiers, AI promises, and paywalls that only show up at export. Every app claims to be the simplest, the smartest, the fastest. Our job is to filter that noise — to tell you which tools earn their keep, which ones hide their best features behind a subscription, and which ones to skip entirely.
methodology.dat How we run the diagnostics
We jack in and push every button. Each tool gets installed, opened with real photos, and run through the same gauntlet: template browsing, layout swapping, image swaps, text overlays, export at multiple sizes, and a pass through the mobile build where one exists. We note what crashes, what stalls, what locks behind a paywall, and what the export actually looks like at print resolution.
Editorial standard is simple — independent, hands-on, and revised when the field shifts. Rankings get re-scored when a tool ships a major update or quietly raises its price. We don't take vendor copy, we don't run guest posts, and a sponsorship will never move a verdict.
disclosure.txt Affiliate transmission
Some outbound links are affiliate links — when you sign up for a tool through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That revenue keeps the lights on, but it does not shape the rankings. A tool that pays well still gets called out for a bad export pipeline, and a tool that pays nothing can still top the list. Recommendations come out of testing, not the rate card.
